The most forgiving flooring on the market
Modern vinyl is waterproof, scratch-resistant, and convincing enough that most guests can’t tell it from hardwood or stone at a glance. The Flooring House stocks luxury vinyl plank, luxury vinyl tile, sheet vinyl, and Forbo Marmoleum for every room across Greater Charlotte, from downtown York to the newer subdivisions going up around Tega Cay and Indian Land.
We order directly from Shaw, Mannington, Karndean, COREtec, and Armstrong, which means real inventory depth — most jobs can start within a week of your estimate.

Four kinds of vinyl, one right answer for each room
"Vinyl flooring" actually covers four different products, and we’ll match the right one to your room during your in-home consultation.
- Luxury Vinyl Plank (LVP) — reads like hardwood, 100% waterproof, our top pick for whole homes
- Luxury Vinyl Tile (LVT) — reads like stone or ceramic, grouted or ungrouted, great for kitchens and baths
- Sheet vinyl — large rolls installed nearly seamless, ideal for laundry rooms and small baths
- Forbo Marmoleum — natural linoleum, popular in healthcare settings and eco-minded homes

Where vinyl beats hardwood and tile outright
Vinyl is the one flooring you can put anywhere with confidence. Hardwood swells when it gets wet, tile can crack if something heavy drops on it, and carpet stains — vinyl shrugs off all three, while staying softer underfoot than tile and quieter than laminate.
It also installs over almost any subfloor, including some existing vinyl or tile, which usually means lower demo costs and a faster project timeline.

The installation details that actually matter
Vinyl looks simple to install, but a great job comes down to a flat subfloor, full-perimeter expansion gaps, and custom-matched transitions — the details a rushed crew skips. Our team handles baseboard removal and reset, every transition, and haul-away of your existing floor, and we’ll give you a fixed quote before we start.

Vinyl Flooring - frequently asked questions
Yes — every LVP, LVT, and sheet vinyl we sell is 100% waterproof. You can mop it, spill on it, and install it in basements and bathrooms without worry.
LVP is waterproof; laminate is not. LVP is softer and quieter underfoot, while laminate is slightly more scratch-resistant on the surface. For most rooms in our humid summers, LVP is the safer bet.
Often, yes — if the grout lines aren’t too deep and the tile is solidly bonded. We’ll check during the in-home estimate and either install directly or skim-coat first to level the surface.
Quality LVP with a UV-protected wear layer holds its color for decades. Budget vinyl in a south-facing room can fade in just a few years, which is one reason we don’t sell the bottom of the market.

Honest, no-pressure advice Ryan spent years on the manufacturer side and on install crews before opening his own doors — he’d rather tell you the truth about a product than talk you into one you don’t need.
A small crew that answers the phone You’re working directly with the family that owns the business, not a call center. Ryan personally checks in after the crew wraps up to make sure the job was done right.
