The stone look, without the cold floor

Luxury vinyl tile gives you the look of stone, ceramic, or marble without the cold underfoot feel, cracked grout, or the broken dish from a hard tile floor. The Flooring House installs LVT across Greater Charlotte in kitchens, bathrooms, entryways, mudrooms, and full commercial spaces.

The LVT we carry meets the indoor air quality certifications designers look for — FloorScore and CARB Phase II — so it’s safe to install in homes with young kids or asthma sensitivities.

The stone look, without the cold floor

Grouted, ungrouted, or click — and what each one means

LVT installs three different ways, and the right method depends on your subfloor and the look you’re after.

  • Grouted LVT — looks nearly identical to ceramic, with real grout lines. Best for high-end kitchens and baths.
  • Ungrouted LVT — tight seams with no grout to maintain. Best for whole-house consistency.
  • Click LVT — floats over the subfloor for the fastest install. Best for basements and retrofits.
  • Glue-down LVT — a solid, quiet feel underfoot. Best for commercial and high-traffic homes.

Why LVT wins over ceramic for most homes

LVT looks like stone or tile but feels softer, warmer, and quieter underfoot, and it’s far more forgiving when someone drops a wine glass. The grout, when you choose it, is sealed to resist staining better than traditional cement grout. For families and pet owners it solves nearly every common complaint about ceramic — without losing the upscale look.

Why LVT wins over ceramic for most homes

Installed the way it should be

We start by flattening the subfloor, since LVT amplifies every dip and bump if that step gets skipped. We dry-lay the pattern first to confirm placement, install with the correct adhesive or click system, and finish with sealed grout (where used) and color-matched transitions to luxury vinyl plank or other flooring in adjacent rooms.

Vinyl Floor Tiles - frequently asked questions

We use a flexible, polymer-modified grout made for LVT — it won’t crack with normal floor movement and is sealed to resist staining, holding its color far longer than cement grout.

Yes — this is one of its strongest uses. It’s waterproof, easy to wipe down, and won’t crack if you drop a cast-iron pan on it.

No — LVT has a soft, slightly warm feel underfoot, and it also works well over radiant heat if you want a genuinely warm floor.

Quality LVT with a 22+ mil wear layer usually lasts 20-25 years residentially. Commercial-grade LVT holds up 15-20 years even under heavy traffic.

Why homeowners choose us

We bring the showroom to you No trip to a big-box store under fluorescent lighting. We load real samples into the truck and bring them to your kitchen table, so you see exactly how a floor will look in your own home before you commit.

Honest, no-pressure advice Ryan spent years on the manufacturer side and on install crews before opening his own doors — he’d rather tell you the truth about a product than talk you into one you don’t need.

A small crew that answers the phone You’re working directly with the family that owns the business, not a call center. Ryan personally checks in after the crew wraps up to make sure the job was done right.

The Flooring House is family-owned and run by Ryan Davis, who came up as a Mohawk Flooring sales rep before working install crews across the country. We bring real samples to your home for a free, no-pressure estimate instead of asking you to drive to a showroom — and Ryan personally stands behind every job.
It’s how a small, family-run business earns its reputation. We’re proud of our 5.0-star rating on Google, and customers consistently mention Ryan following up personally after the install to make sure everything’s right — that’s not an accident, it’s how we operate on every project.
Yes — carpet, solid and engineered hardwood, luxury vinyl plank and tile, ceramic and porcelain tile, and laminate, for both residential and commercial spaces. We also handle furniture removal and return, on-site area-rug customization, and stair-runner surging and binding.
If you ever notice an issue with your flooring, document it and reach out right away. Ryan and the crew will come take a look and make sure your floor is restored to the condition it should be in — we don’t consider a job finished until you’re happy with it.
